Warren Sapp Arrested

Former NFL all-star Warren Sapp was released from jail in Miami Beach Sunday after posting a $1,500 bond, a day after being arrested on domestic battery charges for allegedly choking a woman in his hotel room. Sapp was in town to help cover the Super Bowl as a sports analyst for the NFL Network. Sapp has been pulled off the air pending an investigation into the matter. According to the police report, Sapp was arrested after an incident that took place around 5 a.m. at the Shore Club on Miami Beach. Sapp and the unidentified woman, who said she's been dating Sapp for two years, had been partying with friends the night before and went to lay down. But around 5 a.m., according to the complaint, Sapp pulled her from the bed, grilling her about her interactions with other men. She says he then choked her, threw her down on a couch, picked her up by her shirt and neck and threw her down again. She claimed injuries on her leg and neck and was treated at a local hospital. Sapp told police that he let the woman stay in his room, but asked her to leave because he was expecting other visitors. He says she fell on her when he attempted to help her off the couch. He is reportedly cooperating fully with police.
