Fox has released a statement to officially announce that Mario Lopez will be returning as host of season three of X Factor without his co-host Khloe Kardashian. The rumors of her departure had been persistent for the months following the season two finale but it had not been confirmed until now. According to TMZ, although they didn't provide a reason for giving her the axe, the statement said, "We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors." Khloe's performance as host received a ton of negative reviews from people who felt she looked like a deer in headlights and acted awkwardly toward contestants. Khloe is certainly not the first casualty of the show. UK judge Cheryl Cole was let go from the show after just two audition episodes in the first season. Host Steve Jones was also sent packing along with judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul at the end of season one. Judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid made their own decisions not to return for the next season.
