Making a Murder's Brendan Dassey Will Remain Behind Bars

November 18, 2016

After a rollercoaster of a week for Brendan Dassey, a judge has blocked his release from prison after the previous ruling Tuesday.  Earlier this week a judge ordered Dassey be released by 8 p.m. Friday after his conviction was overturned in August.  The United States Court of Appeals agreed to an emergency motion filed on Wednesday.  The motion was to keep Dassey in prison until the courts can decide a ruling on the Wisconsin Attorney General's appeal of Dassey's overturned conviction in September, according to WBAY.

In 2007, Dassey and his uncle Steven Avery were given life sentences for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.  Dassey became a hot topic after the documentary 'Making A Murderer' came out last year.  The series suggested that police had unfairly questioned Dassey into his confession that caused him to be found guilty.
