I never knew dancing could be so dangerous! Now I’m not a dancer, and don’t know if I could be even if I wanted to, but I’m a surprised how many people are getting hurt on this season of “Dancing With The Stars”!
The season started out with two withdrawals even before the competition began. Jewel had a fractured tibia in both legs, and Nancy O’Dell suffered a torn meniscus. At this point I’m like, “okay that’s unfortunate, but I’m sure that’s the extent of the injuries”. Oh no, that was just the beginning!
Next up on the injured dancer block was Steve-O, Steve Wozniak, and Giles Marini. Oh no, that’s not all folks! Jewel’s hubby Ty Murray didn’t have to wrestle steer to get hurt, he just had to dance…or should I say get popped in the eye with a flying mic pack!
Now there’s Melissa Rycroft who stepped into the season plagued with injuries with a bruise of her own after she was tossed aside on the Bachelor for Molly. That’s right, she actually received Jason’s final rose, but then he changed his mind and dumped her on national television. Ouch! (In his defense, he’s not the 1st guy to change his mind on a girl, he just happened to do it on TV.) At any rate, now we can officially add Melissa to our extensive list of injured dancing celebs after she hurt her ribs. I’m sure I missed a few injuries, but seriously, who can keep up?!?
Is DWTS asking too much of these amateur dancers? That’s right I said AMATEUR! Though they are semi-celebs, they’re not semi-professional dancers. Maybe “Dancing With The Stars” is pushing a little too hard. I guess either way this season really will boil down to the last man or woman standing wins!
