No pandering/fakey fake

I don't go to restaurants that much anymore.  But when I do, I appreciate honesty from the server.  The fact that he/she doesn't claim to love every menu item is both refreshing and resassuring.  I tend to remember that server and would go back (assuming the food is good) in a second.

The same goes for people who "serve" music.  If you listen to Kiss between 2pm and 7PM during the week, you probably have figured out that I'm not for sale when it comes to music.
I'm warning you that I'm not going to pander like every other "DJ" in Milwaukee and claim to love the new Taylor Swift song. Honesty is a rare commodity. I'm bringing it back; regardless of how unpopular it is.

The Greatest lives ever lived......

Are the ones Not lived on Facebook.  A co-worker of mine stopped by the on-air studio and mentioned that Facebook depresses him.  I asked why.. and he quickly responded "Because everybody has such great lives and mine is so boring."

I couldn't wait to give him the great news that most of these facades that you see are just that: Attempts to create an illusion of having it all together.. when what lies beneath these 3x edited posts are.. well, let's face it.. real life events that are just as boring -if not more boing than yours.  Logoff.. and live your life. We won't complain if you don't report a play by play on your next meal, pregnancy, or kidney stone.

You should enjoy The Stuff of Summer

Nope

I'm not wearing long sleeves in May.  I don't care if it's 38 degrees; it's not going to happen.
Much of May is traditionally a big bucket of banal.  47 and cloudly seems to be the norm for
both May 1st and Mother's Day. But don't encourage the coldness by dressing weather appropriate.

Yes, you.  Don't wear long sleeves and puffy jackets.  You look too safe and almost fearful of summer.   Dress down and enjoy the slowly mornping Spring.

The Rise of Celebrity Culture. Not here, champ.

I can't  shake a  somewhat recent moment I had in front of our building. (Kissfm)  Our mailman is an amiable guy; easy to talk to, and very humble.  I enjoy our conversations. No, we're not setting the world on fire, but it's authentic discussion without the puffed up ego of who's more clever or which person is more important (according to the broken world system).  I wrapped our talk, and  then an acquaintence .. not a friend.. an acquaintence smugly oozes out of his proud mouth "Friend of yours?".  Alluding to his bent view that I'm wasting my time conversing with someone of such a normal status.

So?  What if he is my friend?  I'm not supposed to consort with somebody unless their resume is long and impressive(boring) or they've met "famous" (not really famous) people.  The rise of the celebrity culture across the country/world is baiting us into thinking that our self-worth or worse yet --our world value is only as big as the Job Title of the people we call our friends.  It's a symptom of a bigger problem-- A problem of the heart.  Search yours.. I'll be down the hall talking to the custodian.  Because he's more interesting than the last 12 "celebrities" I've talked to.
