Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban Joining Judges Panel On Idol



After weeks of speculation, American Idol has finally confirmed that country singer Keith Urban and rapper Nicki Minaj will serve as judges on the upcoming season. They join Mariah Carey and longtime judge Randy Jackson on the panel. Ryan Seacrest will again return as host.  Carey is getting a whopping $17 million for the Idol stint, and according to Entertainment Weekly, Urban will reportedly earn $4 million, and Minaj could score about $8 million.  Fox's president of alternative Mike Darnell in a statement: "Nicki's an unbelievably captivating international phenomenon who has made an indelible mark on rap and pop,""And Keith is another great addition to Idol -- he's one of the biggest stars in country music and I know that our fans and contestants will fall in love with him."  Ever since the departure of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, there has been a lot of talk over who would fill the vacated seats. Reports has suggested Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Adam Lambert and Kanye West.
